Munroe Island & Village Stay - Itinerary
Day - 1 Arrival - Trivandrum - Kollam Ashtamudi
Arrive at Trivandrum International Airport and tour executive will meet and greet you there after transfer to Kollam 65 Kms drive and check in at Ashtamudi Home stay. the perfect place for Ayurveda treatment and care.
Relax youreseles with the provided ayureda treatments and yoga, enjoy the stay with the nature in an Organic environment with the natural habitats like varieties of birds and butterflies. Overnight stay at Ashtamudi Homestay Kollam.
Day - 2 Munroe Island Backwaters Home stay
Today morning after your breakfast check out from ashtamudi and proceed to Munroe Island Backwater Resort and check in at Munroe Island Resort.
A day to relax, enjoy the life style and sounds of the Keralan Village and the purest form of Village Tourism and experience the real Keralan Culture.
Free day in the home stay and overnight stay in Munroe Island Backwaters Home stay.
Day - 3 Munroe Island Backwater Canoeing
Munroe Island is located 27 km from Kollam, is Munroe Island. Formed by the backwaters of Ashtamudi Lake and Kallada River, this island is named after Colonel Munroe, the British Resident of erstwhile Travancore State. He is credited with having integrated several backwater regions by digging canals. The discovery of stone age tools and megaliths stand testimony to the antiquity of this islet which shelters a quaint little village.
You cruise will be for 5 Hours and you could explore the - small villages criss-crossed with water channels, and the small scale industries engaged in coir making with the help of weaving wheels and ladies making the ropes by hand, mens are very much enganged in fishing, boat building and sand mining, you could also witness the process of extracting coconut oil from "copra" the dried form of coconut, and Munroe also welcomes migratory birds from various countries.
Day - 4 Departure
After breakfast you can proceed for your onward travel plan. We will take you the Trivandrum Airport.
